Do natural events affect mood disorders?

What effects did the Great American eclipse a.k.a. the solar eclipse of 2017 have on mental health?

I’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject of the effects of natural events (solar eclipse, earthquakes, typhoons, and even changes in seasons) and their effects on those of us who have a mental illness. I narrowed it down though because I was really having a hard time finding any credible information so I looked specifically into mood disorders.

If you don’t know what he mood disorder is it is a psychological disorder which is characterized by raising and lowering a person’s mood. The most common ones are major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder (mania – euphoric, hyperactive, over inflated ego, unrealistic optimism), persistent depressive disorder (long lasting low grade depression), cyclothymia (a mild form of bipolar disorder), and SAD (seasonal affective disorder).

I realize not very much research has gone into this. In fact, anything posted online has been antidotal at best. I made a video albeit a little silly to try to get people to answer the question about natures effects on your mental health. I would appreciate if people could let me know here on my blog or on that YouTube video what their opinion of the role natural events play on our mental health. Check out the video below and tell me what you think.

By the way please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can follow my mental health journey as well as my everyday life. I try to be silly but informative. Thanks for taking the time to read this today.
