The first video is David and the rest of Ms. Schlenker’s kindergarten class performing the ABC song. If you’ve never seen David before he is of course the kid that I’m focusing on with the Mohawk.
In the next video we have Rebecca jumping rope with two of her friends while they recite red hot chili pepper as their jumping. Rebecca is the child who is jumping first. She really got off to a really good start and probably would have kept it going if he pant had not started to slip down.
On a side note If you watch closely you’ll even get to see a falling star during this video now I don’t knowif paper stars counter not but I still made a wish.
The last two videos are of the Vanessa Smalley my oldest child. The first one she is performing an interesting grace go to edit of the song “We Are Young” with Ms. Carillo class. The second video is her singing a solo of “Firework” by Katy Perry.
I’m proud of my children for having the courage to do a performance in front of so many people. They did an excellent job and I’m going to have to find something fun to do this weekend as reward for them giving it their best.
]]>Recently I found out that I was approved for a media pass allowing me to cover Phoenix Comicin 2012. Now the prospect of actually going to the Comicon as a journalist is quite exciting but at the same time I am a little nervous because part of me doesn’t feel worthy of getting any journalistic courtesies since in my opinion my writing ability sucks.
In order to get approved for a media pass I had to submit samples of my writing, list web website I will be writing for, along with what methods I would be using to promote this year’s Phoenix Comicon. After I submitted my media pass application I received a generic auto responder message saying my application will be reviewed within the next 24 to 48 hours. I received a response congratulating me on my approval less than 24 hours after I submitted my application.
Now comes the hard part. I am going to have to try to find enough time to actually cover the comic con in a way that it deserves to be covered. So that means that I’m probably going to have to find a babysitter for my kids since my wife will be working three of the four days that the comic con will be here in Phoenix. I also have possibly lined up a couple interviews that I may be able conduct at the con and if I am able to do these interviews I really hope I don’t end up embarrassing myself because it’s been a while since I’ve conducted a real interview.

We lost my mother Roberta Smalley to cancer a little over six months ago and I still have a very difficult time dealing with her death. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I could talk to her one more time are spend some time with her but unfortunately that's just not possible.
I love my mother even though she's gone and I believe without a doubt in my heart that she is in a better place free from the pain and cancer. It's just with all the television commercials, signs in stores, Facebook posts and tweets about Mother's Day it's making today especially tough for me.
The last few years of my mother's life my mental issues drove me away and into solitude so now that I'm getting treatment for my bipolar disorder I'm full of regret about how awful of a son I must have been. I sincerely hope that my mom's knows that I love her even though it was always difficult for me to express.
If your mother is still walking this earth do yourself a favor and tell her that you love her and spend time with her before she's taken away from you. I don't want anyone else to end up like me full of regret and sorrow for what you should've, could've or might've done differently if you only could turn back time.
So happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there who are reading this. Now I am off to try to find something to do in remembrance of my mother. Thanks for reading.

They’ve been making these videos for over two years now and if you are on a weight loss journey and having a hard time I encourage you to check out these guys because their silliness mixed with information about their own weight loss journey should give you a motivation refill.
Now I know some of the effects are probably psychosomatic but I'm certain that today I feel so much better already that I remember filling in quite a long time. My mood today and how I was yesterday is like night and day. I feel so much better and I really hope this wonderful mood shift continues.

Today will be my second time and group therapy at this new treatment facility for my PTSD and depression symptoms. We meet in “Mood group” every Wednesday for two hours and I am expected to do this for a total of 12 weeks.Don't get me wrong I do need therapy so that I can properly learn how to manage some of these overwhelming feelings that I get as part of my PTSD and depression but if last week's session is any indication of what the next 11 sessions will be like then this will be nearly unbearable. You see the therapist lost control of the group within the first 10 minuets and they all went off on talking about totally unrelated issues for most of my time there and in my opinion they pretty much ended up causing me to waste two hours of my time.
Hopefully, this week will be better at group and tomorrow at last I am going to be put back on antidepressants which thus far I've been told is something in all likelihood I'm going to have to be on for the rest of my life since I have such a major chemical imbalance inside of my body. This time I really hope I don't end up feeling like a zombie again because even though at times my pain may be unbearable I really don't want to imagine what it would be like to give up those rare happy feelings that come around from time to time.

This time I did some bartering with a personal trainer here in Phoenix (Benergy Fitness) and hopefully what I end up getting in return helps me to kick obesities butt once and for all. It’s just been so hard to stay focused with my diet and make myself go to the gym especially with all the swelling I’ve been having around my knees and ankles. I really hope the fact that the doctor raised my dosage of Meloxicam to 7.5 Mg twice a day now really helps me not be in so much pain.
Tomorrow is a new day on this journey and I think instead of hitting the gym I’ll just feel up my hydration pack and head out for an early walk around Phoenix before it gets to hot. Who knows maybe I’ll even end up getting a tan while getting my daily exercise in.
My doctor has been trying to talk me into going into physical therapy since my insurance covers it for my health problems and I am giving myself just two more weeks to see results on the scale and in lessening my bodies pain or I’m seriously going to have to look into getting this done. It finally feels like I’m getting my life on track for really the very first time ever but we will see how the next two weeks go before I make any decisions as far as weight loss and adding a personal trainer goes.
]]>I don't usually put up blog posts about missing people because many times it's a difficult subject to approach especially when it's a small child involved. I've been following the news stories about the abduction of little six year old Isabel Celis who was last seen when she went to bed in her home in Tucson back on April 20th and my heart goes out to this child's family.
I sincerely hope this child is alright and will be reunited with her parents soon even though most of my knowledge in the subject of child abductions is screaming this probably will not be the case. The reason I'm holding out hope is that unlike many abductions of children reported each and every year the police are still reportedly receiving a lot of tips so until those leads are exhausted I will remain optimistic.
Incase you've missed the story or haven't seen this child's photo which has been broadcast on nearly every news show I'll include the missing person banner below. If you see ANYTHING that may help police please call a member of law enforcement ASAP because this little girls life may be in danger.

Most people are smart enough to know that you shouldn’t punch the glass case that fire extinguishers are incased in but apparently Amare Stoudemire isn’t that smart. It all went down tonight after the New York Knicks dropped a second playoff game to the Miami Heat.
Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire had to be treated for a left hand laceration that resulted after the star power forward punched glass area that enclosed a fire extinguisher out of frustration for playing such a terrible game.
Twitter was abuzz with jokes like "Amar'e finally figured out how to hit the glass" “Amare's hand was a "crimson mask" after punching a fire extinguisher.” and my favorite The Bobcats would lose by 27 to the fire extinguisher Amare Stoudemire punched.
In all farness Amare was probably just trying to get the fire extinguisher too put out the heat who have been burning the New York Knicks the last two games. To the right is an image of Stoudemire leaving the arena, confirming that he does indeed have his left arm in a sling.
It’s nice to see a player show some fire but when that causes them to hurt themselves and probably end up with a DNP for the remainder of a playoff series it’s just idiotic and not something a veteran captain and NBA all star should be doing. If the New York Knicks hadn’t wasted their amnesty clause on Chauncey Billups I could seriously see them using it on him this offseason. If I’m the Knicks I’d be trading Amare ASAP unfortunately however nobody will want him because of his health problems and non insurable insane NBA contract.
