When I was younger the Cardinals versus Cowboys football game was almost like the Super Bowl. There was so much hype surrounding that game because prior to the Cardinals moving from St. Louis most Arizonans watched “America’s team” a.k.a. the Dallas Cowboy’s. If you want to watch a game you’d see a field of blue across the stadium with only an occasional Cardinals red.
Boy have times changed now that the Cardinals have their own stadium in Glendale and have had an actual appearance in the real Super Bowl. Yesterday’s game had the occasional cowboy fan before the most part the stands were filled with Cardinals faithful. It was a beautiful sight to see and once and for all it became clear that Arizona has finally embraced the Cardinals as their team.
It was a great game and best of all the Cardinals got the win thanks in part to Dallas’s coach iceing his own kicker at the end of regulation causing him to miss and let the game go to overtime. LaRod Stephens-Howling took it from there and had a miraculous play and got us the win with his amazing touchdown.
It was the perfect ending to a football game. The little guy LaRod Stephens-Howling ran past all the defenders and scored almost like the way it would have been done in a Disney movie. Hopefully, with this win the Arizona Cardinals have finally turned the corner and have something to build on for future success.
