Learn to raise chickens in no time at all
My wife Keisa is obsessed with one day having enough land to raise some farm animals. The animal she seems to long for the most are chickens. She doesn’t plan on eating any of the chickens she just wants their fresh organic eggs.
We have an opportunity coming up to possibly move to a new neighborhood that allows various farm animals. In fact, the owner wants to leave some chickens behind because he’s a little too lazy to try to catch them all. This would work perfectly for us since we wouldn’t have to go out and purchase any chickens of our own. It would be kind of a try it before you buy kind of thing.
I’ve been doing a lot of Internet research trying to figure out the best way to create a good chicken coop. Most people tend to renovate an old shed or purchase a pre-built chicken coop. From what I’ve seen online the pre-built chicken coops can cost $700 or more and that doesn’t even include installation!
I stumbled across some different e-books about raising chickens and building your own chicken coop and thought I would give them a chance. I’m a city boy and know nothing about farm life so these books have been a lifesaver in introducing me to raising farm animals especially chickens.
The first book is called “Chicken Keeping Answers” and is written by Jason Perry. It covers the most up-to-date ways to raise your chickens and get them to perform better when it comes to laying eggs. It promises to teach you everything you need to know about raising chickens in seven days or less.
What I like best about this book was that it taught you how to choose the perfect chicken breed for laying eggs. Easy ways to clean and maintain your chicken coop. Most importantly proven strategies which allow you to get the most out of your chicken’s during the incubation process.
The second book is simply called “Building a Chicken Coop”. Don’t let the title fool you this book is jam-packed with information a first timer will need. The most important thing is it will teach you how to build a chicken coop from scratch.
Building a Chicken Coop leaves out the fluff and gives you some great designs on how to cheaply make your own DIY chicken coop. It even makes it easy to scale down the size of the coop if you don’t have enough land to place it on.
What the help of the schematics and diagrams you will be able to easily see how an affordable chicken coop can be built. There is even video libraries that provide you with information related to chicken coops.
I’m terrible when it comes to any DIY project, but they make it look easy because they even show you how to pre-label the wood, so you know exactly where to put it while building. There is also a lot of tips that will make building a coop as inexpensive as possible. The money you save on materials can be used for other essential things like chicken food.
Had I been the one who wrote these books I would share them with you. However, since they’re not mine you can find them via the Clickbank links above. So if you’re the kind of person who wants to know how to quickly and easily raise perfectly healthy chickens and benefit from their delicious organic eggs for years I highly recommend you check out these books. Thanks for reading and let me know if you get any chickens of your own.
