My wife and I took the kids trick-or-treating on Monday and they really enjoyed it. We only walked down two streets in our neighborhood but the kids got enough candy to overfill their pumpkin candy buckets. Trick-or-treating is a new experience for me because I really didn’t get to do it as a kid probably because of the age gap between my siblings and myself plus the fact the my parents were of the belief that Halloween and Christmas were evil by time I was old enough to celebrate either day. Something always appealed to me about this day and I think I finally figured out what it was. It’s the idea of for even just one day you get to be somebody other than yourself, talk about having low self-esteem. Yep, I have issues but for once I still got to have a little fun.
