Disneyland switches from the happiest to the most expensive place on earth
I’ve never been to Disneyland, but everyone I know refers to it as ‘the happiest place on earth.’ After today’s news about the plan to increase prices again I know now I will never have the opportunity to ever go to Disneyland. It would make my wallet the unhappiest place on earth.
The price increase became official on Sunday and Disneyland will increase prices by an astounding 25% for the annual pass, daily tickets, and even parking.
The new Disneyland prices for 2019
To break that down a little easier for you a one day ticket is going to cost you more than $100 and to park your car in Disneyland’s parking lot you’re looking at $25. I can think of so many better things to do with my money than to go to Disneyland. Everyone else in my family has already been there at least once other than myself, so it’s not like anyone is missing out.
It’s somewhat crazy to think this price increase came less than a year after Disney decided to raise prices by 18%. They probably had to raise these prices to make the park less crowded and pay for crazy things like the Star Wars: Galax’s Edge project that cost over one billion dollars they plan on opening soon.
Disney is price gouging people now, and I remember seeing old recordings of Walt Disney saying he wanted to make Disneyland something affordable for all families. I guess the mouse is getting a bit greedy now that Walt is gone.
