The past few days I’ve experienced a wide range of emotions. Until this week I didn’t know I was able to cry, have anxiety attacks and laugh all at the same time. Last night I spent some time mentally reliving special moments while looking through photos to create a tribute video for my big brother. It was overwhelming in both good and bad ways reliving those moments which meant so much to me.
Michael Lee Smalley was a magnificent brother, husband, father, cousin, nephew, friend, and mentor. He was a real man of God, and I know he is celebrating in heaven with those who we love and have passed away before us.
This is a sad time for our family. However, knowing Michael is no longer in pain and probably dancing in heaven without the need for his oxygen mask or other medical aids is comforting. Deep down I know God has a place prepared for him and the rest of is the many promises I wholeheartedly believe.
Please pray for our family (Especially his wife and children) and who at one time or another happened to have been blessed by meeting such an incredible man.
I’m sure everyone who knew Michael has a heavy heart right now, but must also have some great memories of Mike. If you can, I would love for you to share a memory or even just your condolences below.
God, bless you.
Lonnie Smalley (Proud to be Mike’s youngest brother)
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am. You know the way to the place I am going.”
John 14: 1 – 4
