Why I love Mingo’s Louisiana Kitchen
Here in Phoenix, Arizona it’s hard to find authentic Louisiana cuisine when you start craving it. Luckily, my wife and I recently discovered Mingo’s Louisiana Kitchen which is on the corner of 35th ave and Southern. It’s on the border between Phoenix and Laveen, Arizona.
The staff was friendly, and the food made me feel like I was back in New Orleans. I ordered the had the shrimp po boy which was on sale that day and my wife had the jambalaya. Both were amazing! However, my wife isn’t quite used to the spiciness of authentic jambalaya, so she was unable to finish her substantial portion. We took it home, and it made a great dinner for me.
Quite honestly I believe Mingo’s Louisiana Kitchen is probably the best food place in that part of town. I’ve been hearing it’s praises for months on the Laveen Arizona Facebook page and on Mingo’s page itself that I practically forced my wife to go there for lunch after we picked up my medication from Walmart. I’m hoping to eventually visit again soon so that I can try the prime rib hash which I’m told is full of delicious tender ribs.
