I love coffee. I love it so much my wife and I actually have 2 Keurig brewers. One K550 2.0 brewer and one of the older pre-2.0 brewers. It’s been a rough year for Keurig as a company with stock prices dropping since they closed off the system to non-Keurig approved pods. The public outcry from people who wish to brew their own coffee especially with the My-K-Cup accessory has been deafening.
Keurig has heard the consumer complaints and decided to make a My-K-Cup for 2.0 brewers which is due out towards the end of the year but also created a new pod for those who want a larger size without brewing an entire K-carafe.
My experience with the K550 brewer, however, has been amazing. I love how this brewer makes the perfect cup of coffee every time I select the brewing option. My biggest complaint is here we are one year into the Keurig 2.0 brewer and non-comparable K-cup pods are still on the shelf making you pay extra attention to what you buy at the grocery store.
The other complaint I have about the Keurig 2.0 is the needles do clog a lot. Keurig does provide this fix that works, though:
The most common reason that the Keurig 2.0 system will not brew or will brew short cups is a clogged needle. Please view the “Cleaning Your Keurig 2.0 Brewer Needles” video at http://krg.bz/1BlgaUz to learn how to unclog the needle. Your brewer may also need to be descaled. You can find descaling video instructions herehttp://krg.bz/1zwyMQ9. If you continue to have issues with your brewer, please call our Customer Service: 866-901-2739.
I haven’t had to call Keurig Customer Service yet about my brewer and, in fact, love it more than the original model I have. I just wish there was an easier way to brew iced coffee. All in all, I give the Keurig K550 brewer 4 out of 5 stars and am looking forward to them adding even more brands to their coffee catalog.
