What is the Phoenix Hempcon?
Marijuana is becoming widely accepted, and if you have been driving around Phoenix, Arizona the last month or two, you’ve probably seen at least a few signs on the side of the road advertising the Phoenix Hempcon 2018 cannabis business Expo. After seeing about a dozen signs driving my wife back and forth to work to her job at Amazon I finally decided to do a little research to figure out precisely what Hempcon was and share with you today.
The Phoenix Hempcon is a cannabis business Expo taking place at the Phoenix convention center June 15-17, 2018 and boasts that it will have three days of seminars about cannabis education and dozens of exhibitors. The primary focus of the workshops apparently will be about how to make money in the cannabis business. The vendors will be exhibiting in the following categories: dispensaries, collectives, Phoenix area delivery services, marijuana card evaluation services, legal services, marijuana educational institutes, hydroponics, equipment/accessories, necessary fertilizer/chemicals, Phoenix area hemp/cannabis clubs and associations, publications, and cannabis gifts/novelty/apparel. Nobody under 18 will be admitted and obviously if you have no interest in learning about hemp or marijuana this probably would not be an event for you.
I find it interesting that events like the Phoenix Hempcon cannabis Expo is happening. It shows a change and de-stigmatization of marijuana in Arizona as well as the rest of the United States. It probably has to do with the fact that people finally realize that cannabis has some great medical properties and is less addictive and deadly than prescription opiates. I for one am happy to see that marijuana is finally getting mainstream recognition as being a legitimate substitute for a lot of medical issues. In fact, my psychiatrist recommended that I look into obtaining a marijuana card for my PTSD and other mental problems. I haven’t yet, but once I leave my current job, I might consider it.
