Why 5 years at my job is a big deal

September 19, 2017, was my five-year work anniversary. For those of you who suffer from bipolar disorder, you realize how big of a deal working this long is. It’s hard to keep a job when you’re suffering from bipolar. Lives yo-yo of emotions tend to hit us harder, causing many of us to depend on SSI disability.

I’ve had so many jobs in my lifetime that it’s impossible for me to come up with an exact number of my former employers. Which is why I love my current job. I work from home and don’t have to deal with people face-to-face other than through Google hangouts. It works for me. I never thought I would say this about a job once my bipolar disorder symptoms reared their ugly head.

I’m not saying I love every day at my job, but it does have more good days than bad. While we are making changes now I am confident I will work here for many years to come.

Here’s to another five years at a job I actually enjoy.
